I soon had the training bug.
4 October, 2017

When I commenced World Taekwondo in 1990 I had no ambition or aspirations to become a Black Belt. I joined primarily for fitness. I soon had the training bug and made every effort to get to as many training sessions as I could.

I didn't think that I would ever have the confidence to take a class.

Even when I gained my Black Belt I didn't think that I would ever have the confidence to take a class, although I was always there and loved to help with the Juniors. Over the years, I have gained the skills to instruct and also to run centres in the Adelaide Hills.
My journey to 4th Dan has been exciting and measured. I am very proud of my promotion to 4th Dan, at the same time I am truly humbled by it. I know that without the guidance of Grand Master Wahid and Master Carol, who are both such great role models it would not have been possible. Instructor Patrick has also been a great influence on me.

World Taekwondo has enriched my life and will continue to do so.

With World Taekwondo I have had the opportunity to travel to South Korea on 5 occasions to train, and have had the pleasure to share many varied and memorable experiences. I have met so many interesting, diverse and good hearted people. I appreciate what our training gives us, training the mind, the body and the spirit.
I love the tenants of World Taekwondo and that it is such a good grounding for life in general.
I will wear my new rank with pride. I am looking forward to the next chapter...
