I feel a sense of excitement and fear at the same time!
7 December, 2016

I started World Taekwondo training when I was 4 and am still doing it 8 years later. My older brother started first with a group of friends and I thought it looked like fun. I really enjoyed learning how to kick, punch and perform the patterns.

I have always wanted to be a Black Belt!

I have made lots of new friends through World Taekwondo training and it has helped me become more confident with talking to people and teachers at school. It has also helped me gain lots of fitness and skills.
My favourite part of World Taekwondo training is sparring because it prepares you for real life situations and I also really like learning new kicks because it makes me feel like I have achieved something new. I really like learning grabs because it makes me confident that when someone grabs me I will know what to do, and breaking boards. When I break boards I feel a sense of excitement and fear at the same time. It takes a lot of determination to break the boards and I am determined to do that and get through it.
The Black Belt is important to me because ever since I started World Taekwondo I have always wanted to be Black Belt and reaching it has always been my goal.

My favourite part of training is sparring it brings you that one step closer of being in a real life situation where you will have to engage all your training techniques into one outcome (think quickly, apply fast, execute with precision). I also love the self defence techniques and if applied correctly can save your life with minimum effort.
